Field Workouts
Working Out in the Field
Working out in the field can include challenges such as: security, time, space, motivation, equipment. It requires some creativity. However, it's important to maintain some basic strength and mobility, especially during long training sessions, to optimize performance and preserve function. We've created quick, field expedient workouts that can be done in 30 minutes or less with minimal equipment. We've included upper body, lower body, full body, and mobility workouts. Typically in the field, endurance is better maintained than strength due prolonged continuous activity. Therefore, field workouts should emphasize strength and mobility more than endurance.
Plan ahead for how you can workout in the field and practice it during lower threat, smaller training exercises. Get creative with your equipment: bring a TRX, utilize water cans, rucksacks, IOTVs, litters, etc.Â
